If you know the Clay Pot team, you know that we love pizza and pizza related dishes. Fortunately for us, Doug, one of our talented graphic designers, doesn't just apply his skills on logo and website designs. He crafted a new pizza roll dish that we are affectionately labeling as Pizzaroni Rolls that we wanted to share.
INGREDIENTS
1 package Pillsbury Classic Pizza Crust
1 tub (1-inch diameter) bocconcini mozzarella cheese balls
14 oz jar Classico Traditional Pizza Sauce
9 oz bag Gallo Thin-Sliced Pepperoni
1/2 stick butter (1/4 cup)
1 can Crisco shortening
1 container Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 jar McCormick Gourmet Italian Seasoning
1 jar garlic powder
INSTRUCTIONS
Grease the cookie sheet with Crisco and preheat oven to 400F.
Cut the pepperoni slices into 1/2" wedges.
Unroll pizza crust into a rectangle and cut into 9 squares.
Top each square with 6 pepperoni wedges, a ball of mozzarella, and a dollop of pizza sauce.
Fold each corner of the square to meet in the center and form a small packet.
Place seam side down on the greased baking sheet.
Repeat until all pizza crust squares are used.
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Italian seasoning and garlic powder together.
Brush the top of each pizza roll with the butter mixture.
Sprinkle tops of the pizza rolls with grated parmesan cheese.
Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
As you can see from the picture, they look lovely and taste even better!
